Start with what you want to maintain
Paint protection works best as part of a care routine. Wax, sealants, and professional coatings are different ways to protect and enhance a prepared finish. The right choice depends on your budget, how long you intend to keep the vehicle, where it is parked, and how you wash it. None replaces regular cleaning, and none turns paint into a surface that cannot be scratched or damaged.
Wax and routine exterior care
A spray wax finish is included in Premium Detailing’s Exterior Refresh. This is a practical choice when your main goal is a clean, presentable daily driver with an added protective finish. Protection requires upkeep; its performance depends on the product, environment, and washing routine. Rather than assuming a universal lifespan, ask when the finish should be reassessed and which wash products are compatible.
Ceramic sealant is its own category
Premium Exterior includes ceramic paint sealant after deeper exterior cleaning and decontamination. The word ceramic can appear on many kinds of products, so the label alone does not tell you the preparation, durability, or application involved. A sealant included in a detailing package should not be confused with a separate professional coating installation. Compare the entire service, including surface preparation, instead of assuming both offer the same result.
Professional coating requires preparation
Premium Detailing’s coating service includes cleaning, decontamination, assessment and polishing, surface preparation, and coating application. Preparation matters because a coating does not hide every defect underneath it. A car with swirl marks may need a different polishing plan from a well-maintained newer vehicle. The published coating starting prices are $800 for small vehicles, $1,000 for medium, $1,200 for large, and $1,400 for extra-large vehicles.
Know the limits before booking
A coating can support gloss and easier cleaning, but it does not prevent every scratch, rock chip, stain, or water spot. Dirt still needs to be removed safely. Mineral deposits can still form when water dries, and a contaminated surface still needs attention. Do not treat water beading as permission to leave the vehicle dirty indefinitely. Ask which coating is proposed, what its expected service life means, and what maintenance is required.
Make the decision with your detailer
For regular maintenance, begin by comparing Refresh and Premium Exterior. If you want a professional coating, arrange an assessment and ask about any correction needed first. Confirm working conditions, cure and wash instructions, and any written warranty terms rather than relying on a generic package name. The best choice is the service you can maintain consistently after the vehicle comes home.
